Can Hosts include a security deposit in their Listings on Giggster?

Yes, Hosts have the option to include a security deposit in their Listings on Giggster. Although a security deposit requirement is optional, we recommend always collecting security deposits from renters who book your space for events or parties. Please include the security deposit requirement in the description of your location.

What are the different ways to charge a security deposit on Giggster?

There are two ways to charge a security deposit on Giggster:

1. Including it in the standard additional fees for the listing: Hosts can choose to include the security deposit as part of the standard additional fees for their listing. To do this, the host should navigate to the "Listings" tab and find the "Additional Fees" menu. Here, the host can specify the security deposit amount as part of the additional fees associated with the listing.

2. Sending a custom rate in chat: Alternatively, Hosts can charge a security deposit by sending a renter a custom rate in the chat with the security deposit included as an additional fee. To access this option, click on the chat button located on the right-hand side of the listing.

What happens if a security deposit is included in a booking?

If a security deposit is included in a booking, the payout for that booking will be held off for a period of 48 hours. This allows Hosts to submit a claim to Giggster's claim resolution portal , if necessary. The security deposit serves as a form of protection for Hosts against potential damages or breaches of the Location Agreement.

Please note that it's important to communicate and clarify any questions or concerns about the security deposit with the other party before confirming a booking.
